Croissant takes both the guesswork and the real work out of the resale process. Croissant gives you a guaranteed resale value up front so you know what your purchases will be worth in the future and makes it seamless to trade in your items when you’re ready.
Croissant is simple to use:
1. Opt in using the Croissant toggle on the product or cart page of the Favorite Daughter website.
2. Look out for an email from Croissant guiding you to activate your account and view your Croissant Collection after you purchase.
3. Click “Sell” in the Croissant app whenever you are ready, and ship the items to a Croissant location using the provided prepaid shipping label. No listings and no hassle.
Once your items have been reviewed, you will receive a disbursement of cash or credit that you can use towards your next must-have purchase.
Croissant guarantees the resale value of your purchase before you buy, so you know exactly what each item will be worth when you decide to trade it in. When you’re ready, you’ll initiate the trade-in process in the Croissant app and ship the item to one of their warehousing partners to verify the condition of your item.
You will then receive payment via cash or store credit - no managing listings or waiting for an item to sell! Croissant then finds a new owner for your items through a variety of secondhand websites, including TheRealReal, Poshmark, Vestiaire Collective, and others.
All items purchased with Croissant are eligible to be traded in within 6 months of their purchase date for the guaranteed value, so long as they are in excellent condition and are unaltered.
You can still sell items in the Croissant app after 6 months, but you will receive the best price Croissant can achieve through its secondhand partners, which may be different from the initial guaranteed value.
The items you resell through Croissant must be unaltered, in excellent condition, and shipped by the guarantee expiration date to be eligible for the guaranteed value.
Items that are altered or in less than excellent condition can still be resold through Croissant, but you will receive the best price Croissant can achieve through its secondhand partners, which may be different from the initial guaranteed value. Croissant will provide an upfront estimate of this value.
There is no cost to you as a customer for using Croissant, and you will receive the guaranteed value for your item once it has been accepted at the Croissant warehouse – the value
you see is the value you get! As part of Favorite Daughter’s commitment to sustainability and great customer experiences, they pay a small commission to Croissant when you opt in.
You can receive payment for the item(s) you’ve traded in via one of 2 different methods: primarily via cash disbursal or, in specific cases, via store credit. Cash disbursals will be deposited into your Paypal or Venmo account within 3-5 business days. Store credit is associated with the merchant at which you purchased the original item and is usually paid out in the form of a gift card.
When you trade an item in with Croissant, it is sent to either our personal receiving facility or to one of our partner’s warehouses where we make sure that the item is being traded-in in its best condition. Once that process is complete, we take the arduous resale process off of your hands and list the item on your behalf, continuing to feed the circular shopping ecosystem.
